Low pressure system expected to become tropical depression
The Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a heavy rain alert for the whole of Fiji and warned that localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding.
According to Fiji Met, there is a slow moving low-pressure system in the NorthWest of Fiji which is currently affecting the Fiji group. The low-pressure system is gradually deepening and is expected to become a tropical disturbance today and a tropical depression tomorrow.
Fiji Met gives a low to moderate (20%-50%) chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over Fiji waters.
The next special weather bulletin will be issued @3pm.
